When I reconnect the power supply I seem to have to open and close the display/lid to get the computer to wake up again. i realise that when I disconnect power the Mac will automatically go to sleep - that’s fine. When plugged into power it works perfectly. But, it’s not the Newton OS, which would be even more interesting. I have my MacBook Pro connected to an external monitor most of the time. Ten saplings from the apple tree that inspired Sir Isaac Newton are being auctioned to raise money for the future care of his birthplace. Motos Razr range is a real mobile hall-of-famer, but recent clamshell efforts. Well, this is an interesting development: iPhone running Mac OS System 7. And at first, Apple didnt even include that cable in the basic package. Ah, it’s a bother, sure … but, you know, a guy’s gotta dream. Maybe there’s a way to wire the PC Card reader. The Apple Pencil, a stylus that Apple first launched in 2015 and has since upgraded, is also a modern version of the original Newton’s note-taking digital pen, with much of the same. Wire the audio out of the dock to the mini jack. You’d probably have to replace the stylus with one with a squishy tip that worked on the touchscreen of the iPod, and I don’t know if there’s a way to actually wire the keyboard or not. Embed the dock into the space where the touchscreen of the eMate used to be, such that the iPhone can be docked horizontally inside the clamshell of the eMate.Įr, yeah, something like that … just be careful not to obscure the touchscreen with the tape like I did. Yeah, I know I shudder at the thought of murdering such a cute little Newton as well, but … then wire the keyboard from the eMate into the dock, somehow. Then go buy an old Apple Newton eMate on eBay. For a while, I used to just leave the lid of my computer cracked, but that was always a nuisance. If you read the guide about General Magic, the Newton will seem familiar. Normally whenever I turn it on in clamshell mode, the computer goes to sleep between 2 and 15 minutes and then the monitor won't recognize it. The Psion Series 3, released a year before the Newton, was much more capable but used a clamshell design with a full keyboard. I always always had problems getting it to work in clamshell mode. I had an idea for the ultimate iphone dock.
